Launched my Line in Calabria!

As a young up and coming designer, there has been certain areas through out my journey that required managing. Linda Vercillo has been nothing short but amazing. She took on the roll as my agent and landed me some amazing life changing opportunities that would further my career. If it weren’t for Linda I would not have been introduced to the south of Italy, Calabria, and know what it has to offer. Calabria is now making a staple in the fashion world and Reggio being deemed a new fashion capital. I had the honours of being part of the second international fashion week in Reggio and have no doubts I could grace their stage next year. Linda V also was awarded a golden muse award. A well deserved award, in my opinion, considering how much support she has given the fashion community in Canada and Italy. Also, not to mention the amount of work and energy she puts into everyone of her events. Italy Immersion Program 2019

It’s my pleasure to offer my unreserved recommendation for Toronto North Couture’s Italy Immersion Program.

The program was a great experience for me, and I learned a lot during the two weeks I stayed there. There were lots of amazing opportunities that we were given because of this program, such as volunteering backstage at Rome Fashion Week. We learned a lot about how the industry works and got to meet designers as well. In Rome, we also visited a globally acknowledged fabric store and learned a bit about different types of fabric and what they’re best for. Linda and Mary Lou both taught us about Italian culture and took us to different places where we could experience it ourselves.

In Soverato, we stayed in yet another wonderful hotel with a beach within two minutes walking distance. When it came to the fashion show, I was blown away in the amount of work being put into it, and it was very successful as well, with the rows all filled with people watching attentively. I was also very impressed by how amazing the pictures from the photoshoots and the fashion show came out. The models were also all very kind and I didn’t find any issues with the fittings, show, and photoshoots throughout the entirety of my trip.

There were also other things we did which I found to be a great learning experience such as visiting a silkworm farm and visiting Malía’s design studio, an Italian sustainable fashion brand that sells globally where we were given advice and even had an opportunity to possibly feature one of our designs for their next collection.

I 100% recommend going on this trip for anyone considering going into the fashion industry because of how much you’ll be able to learn from it and grow as a designer.

One of the Best Trips!

I experienced the Italy Tra Di Noi trip, run by Linda Vercillo, in the summer of 2016. In my opinion the itinerary was thoroughly thought out and organized. Every day was planned from events, meals, touring, and times for resting. There was also time to explore on our own. Even though the trip was planned from Toronto the detail and accuracy in everything we had to do was incredible. We were even recommended food to go buy, such as pistachio croissants and a specific honey brand from Calabria. Linda is very familiar with Italy that she was able to accomplish such an amazing experience all from another country. Our itinerary revolved around fashion-centric events and we got to experience working with industry professionals in Rome through Linda’s connections. I personally felt no difference in the fact that the trip was planned in Canada. She thought through every aspect and any hiccups that occurred went unnoticed since she always seemed to have a back-up or alternative option in mind. Once in a Lifetime Experience!

The Elements of Design Program in Italy was an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience thanks to an exceptional planner, Linda Vercillo of Tra Di Noi. Although I was unacquainted with any of the girls on the trip, Linda was encouraging and had a way of making everyone feel welcome and included. With her hard work and planning, we acquired a true feel for the fast-paced environment at fashion shows, which can only be obtained through hands-on experiences. Despite the ever-changing circumstances, Linda was able to adjust the plans accordingly. When our fashion show in Soverato had to be relocated due to weather-related issues, she was able to adapt and put her plan B in place, swiftly and seamlessly. Linda was extremely approachable and offered great recommendations when we asked about where to visit, what to do, and where to eat in the foreign country. She was always ensuring that everyone was enjoying themselves. I would definitely recommend Linda and this program to anyone who is interested. Giulia

I Learned More than being in a Classroom!

I haven’t formally thanked you for the experience that I had in Italy. I learned more than I ever could imagine on this trip than I could’ve in a classroom. This experience helped me to broaden my learning experience about the art I am most passionate about, while learning more about myself. You planned the absolute most perfect trip and I had the time of my life. I will never forget this past summer and the friendships I made over the course of the two weeks. Full of Learning for Young Designers!

Linda is exactly the type of personality you need to keep you sane while planning an event or travelling. She is always 20 steps ahead of you, and she has already thought of every detail and bump in the road. Above that, Linda is the most kind, easiest person to talk to and confide in. She is honest, and has endless knowledge when it comes to event planning. I myself was lucky enough to experience 2 of Linda’s events: the Elements of Design program in Italy, and the Rome Fashion Week show (also in Italy). For the Elements of Design trip, Linda made it possible for myself and 10 of my classmates to work backstage at Rome Fashion Week, visit a bridal atelier, learn about silk making, and participate in several other events. She organized a seamless itinerary, full of new learning for young designers. Linda also gave me the opportunity to showcase a collection at Rome Fashion Week. She guided me through the biggest show I had ever participated in and made me feel at ease the whole time. She was always very open; I was aware of the planning process leading up to the event. This made me feel especially at ease. As someone who has had the pleasure of being part of Linda’s events, trust me, you’ll want to hire Linda Vercillo for any event. Made My Dreams Come True

In 2015, I joined a fashion design school in Vaughan, Toronto. My dream? To work at one of the Haute Couture Fashion Shows in the world. But I was 21, had no connections to anyone in the fashion world and could barely sew to hem my pants. Little did I know there was a lady who’s daughter also attended this school. A lady who had the same dream for her daughter.

In September of 2015, the students at the school were presented with what seemed like an impossible idea. Linda was going to get us to work behind the scenes at Rome’s Haute Couture Fashion Week in Italy.

Over the months leading up to the trip, Linda worked incredibly hard sending emails, phone calls, and traveling back and forth to Italy, all to iron out all the details of the trip. She wanted us to have the most authentic experience of Italy – it is after all the country she calls home.

In July of 2016, I was sitting on a plane on my way to work for one of the world’s most elite clubs, all thanks to the work of Linda Vercillo. No other university or college program to date offered such an incredible once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to its students, and I’ll tell you why…  No other program had Linda Vercillo.

Over the course of two weeks, I worked behind the scenes at the shows of 4 different high fashion designers, was able to watch a high fashion show, ate the most delicious pasta and pizza dishes I’ve ever had at restaurants in the heart of Rome, and had as much gelato as my heart desired. Yes, I also saw the Colosseum, the Vatican, and the Trevi Fountain but Linda made sure we experienced the beauty of the smaller, lesser known bits of Italy’s magic and it was those moments that made the trip all the more memorable.

The last week of our trip she ensured that we visited her home region southern area of Calabria before we left. There we took a boat along the coast and dove in and out of sparkling clear blue waters, we rode horses along the beach and perused the local market for fabrics and unique trinkets to take home, we travelled to the mountains to learn how to make a traditional Italian meal from scratch, we woke early to get our pick of freshly baked goods at the best bakery in town, stayed up late through the night to watch the sunrise over the Ionian Sea, and we drove late at night into the mountains just to get photos of the coastal city lit up in the night. Linda put her heart and soul into planning this experience of Italy for us. I have had the privilege of traveling to many countries, but this trip is The trip I will never forget.

Linda Vercillo is a fairy godmother. She will help you find your glass heels, the crystal carriage, and she will plan you the perfect ball. It does not matter where in the world you want your wedding, Linda will put her heart, soul, and boundless creativity into every experience she plans. Linda will think of all the little details you didn’t even consider to make your day just that extra little bit special.

Alta Roma Fashion Week 2016

The Alta Roma Fashion Week 2016 trip to Italy via Haute Couture Academy of Fashion Fine Arts and Design was such an incredible experience. Linda did a spectacular job at planning the event in Italy even though she resides in Toronto. The passion and efforts of her planning was clearly seen as she flew back and forth to the venue to ensure a quality experience for all the students. The trip went smoothly and all the events planned provided such an eye-opening experience, showcasing the culture of Italy as well as learning the various fashion and art techniques offered. Linda is an incredible planner and truly captured and offered the experience of the Italy culture as well as the fashion runway industry to us.
